A far-reaching partnership, which will see the Cetilar® brand alongside the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team, developing an innovative and ambitious Human Performance Human Performance project , presented in detail yesterday afternoon at the Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa, during a press conference.

In addition to the Lacorte brothers and some of the members of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team – the meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Italian Sailing Federation Francesco Ettorre and the members of the scientific team of the Human Performance project::Germano Tarantino (Chief Scientific Officer at PharmaNutra), Fred Fernando (CEO di MedEx), Prof. Silvio Presta, Psychiatry specialist and Research Fellow in Clinical Neuropsychopharmacology, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli physiotherapist Stefano De Pirro and the two owners of the company Athletica, Sports Conditioning & Rehab, Alessio Erra e Filippo Della Latta.

A top-level working group, created specifically with high-calibre figures in their various fields, to improve the physical and mental conditions of the crew of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, aiming to tackle the next America’s Cup challenge at 100% of their potential.

Athletic training, accident prevention, nutrition and mental preparation: these are the main sectors on which the Human Performance project focuses, with a view to the best possible performance supported by the best professional figures in their respective sectors and constant dialogue between these.

“We are proud and happy to work with an international Team like the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli in this new and long-awaited America’s Cup challenge. And above all, to be able to put our medical and scientific skills in the field of training at the disposal of the team”, stated Andrea Lacorte, Chairman of PharmaNutra S.p.A. “From now until the America’s Cup, we will be working hard, we have many stimulating ideas to develop in order to achieve the best physical and mental performance of the Luna Rossa crew.”

“Human Performance is an unprecedented project in the sailing world: we have involved some top medical and scientific figures, who we already work with in the motorsports world, with a view to developing an innovative and ambitious programme,” added the Vice-Chairman and CEO Roberto Lacorte. “Seeking the best physical and mental performance in a challenge like the America’s Cup is a fundamental aspect, and is the reason why we laid the foundations of this project, which we believe very much in.”

“We are very pleased to have PharmaNutra and its “Human Performance” medical and scientific project supporting Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli,” explained Max Sirena, Team Director of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. “PharmaNutra is a leading name in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical sector, and has been working with sports teams for some time, not only in terms of athletic training but also within a general path aiming to improve overall performance. I am sure that this will be a great help for us in establishing the best possible training programme for our sailors, allowing them to maximise their sailing performance ahead of the 37th America’s Cup”.

“In the last America’s Cup, the boat and the crew achieved a really high level of perfection, which amazed everyone,” concluded Gilberto Nobili, Operations Manager of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. “But we can’t consider that as the finishing line but rather the starting line for the next Cup. We are working very hard on the new boat, constantly improving the hull, systems and strategies both at sea and on land, and we would like to devote the same attention to the physical training of our crew, as we know how important this is during the regatta. We are sure that, with the partnership of PharmaNutra and our specific team we can enhance the individual characteristics of all the screw, helping them to achieve excellent results as a team.”
